9/12/2023 0 Comments 1967 thunderbird rear seat![]() ![]() A molded to fit drop in carpet from a company on the east coast was installed. The drivers floor pan was replaced and new carpet pads installed. You can see pictures of the old heater core and fan motor in the pictures on this web site. The heater core was replaced with a 1968 heater core as there were no 1967 heater cores available when I needed one. I try to keep the car waxed, and keep a car cover on it. The light bulbs in the interior have been replaced. The rubber drain hoses for the rear vent system behind the rear window have been replaced with PVC drains so they should never go bad. There is a new spare tire that has never been on the ground. The tires were replaced before the car was driven from Washington, State, and probably have less than 5,000 miles on them. There are extra trim pieces and a tail light in the trunk. I had the exhaust resonators removed as they rust and serve no purpose. I have replaced the front brake calipers, pads and rear brake shoes. Manifold gasket needs to be installed as there is a small leak. I had the transmission serviced and the oil changed and discovered that a new exhaust This car is 41 years old, and there are general maintenance items that need to be done. It has a AM/FM radio that stopped working shortly after the car arrived in Houston. The TBird has a 390 cid motor, C6 transmission, power steering, power brakes, air conditioning, manual crank windows, manual door locks, power driver’s seat, manual passenger seat. The car is now in the New Caney, TX area about 40 miles northeast of Houston. My son called me and from there I became the owner of this great old car. The person who had the Mustang knew the person who owned the TBird. Upon arrival in Washington State, he discovered the Mustang had a blown head gasket. My son sent to Washington State to pick up an old Mustang that he was going to restore. From there the car sat for a lot of years. ![]() On the way home from the hospital, be had another heart attack and never got to see his car. Shortly after the wreck, he had a heartĪttack and was admitted to the hospital. ![]() He had a minor accident and there was some damage done to the front end. The gentleman who bought the Thunderbird new lived in Oregon. The Thunderbird is for sale, but I am still working on it.Ī little history of the Thunderbird as I understand it.
